NAMIWalks, the largest mental health event series in the United States, is an annual fundraiser walkathon that takes place over the course of several months in more than 150 locations. These walks promote awareness of mental health to reduce stigma, raise funds for NAMI’s free mental health programs, and build community to let people know they are not alone.
NAMI Peer-to-Peer Course is a free, 8 session educational program for adults with mental illness who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. Taught by a trained team of people who’ve been there, the program includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises. Everything is confidential, and NAMI Jacksonville never recommends a specific medical therapy or treatment approach.
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a safe, confidential space. The course provides an opportunity for mutual support and growth. Experience compassion and understanding from people who relate to your experiences. This is a place to learn more about recovery in an accepting environment.
